Rather than try to "fix" him reflect on how you were right in the past but wrong in the present. The games that he likes now will one day be retro games. Do you really want him to grow up and be the type of person who tells the generation after his that they are wrong for liking their contemporaries?

Would you have liked someone from the generation before yours to have told you that you were wrong for liking your contemporaries and that theirs were better?

My theory for why Japanese MegaDrive games are more pricey than their western counterparts is unlike in the USA, UK, and Brazil, in Japan the MegaDrive tanked hard. So less copies of games were made and are harder to find. But SEGA has a small but hardcore fanbase in Japan. So the few games that were available got scooped up by the hardcores.

So, Sega had a deal going on that publishers had to get the cartridges directly from them.

EA, being EA, reverse engineered the PCBs and threatened to leak all that information if Sega didnt allow EA to use their own design.

I do agree it's a cluttered setup even if he is able to get out the games - for my tastes anyway - but other than that I don't see anything but namecalling and passive-aggressive "lmaos". From the point he first proved the accusers wrong, it was nothing but moving the goalpost, memes and "Yeah, but"s from there onward. The whole point of battlestation threads is to show off your stuff, and I don't see anything hate-worthy in that as long as the contributors are nice about it. Posing would be if he posted his setups in completely unrelated threads.

I assemble fiber optic lasers and blow them up for a living. We work in a cleanroom. It's literally disturbing free, otherwise our projects would be ruined from the start.

My TG-16 collection basically started when I got a killer deal on 9 games. Got all these for $150 from kijiji a couple years back. I had always wanted a turbografx but never actively looked for one, but kept an eye for a deal and found these and just went for it. Ended up trading the Fantasy Zone, Space Harrier and Klax for some other games. I regret trading the Space Harrier cause I thought it was actually a pretty good port but I'm thinking of just getting the PCE version now.

I've built up a collection on two different occasions. I usually end up selling or trading it all once it starts taking up too much space and I'd rather have something else like a new PC. Only system that's survived both purges is the Dreamcast and I'll probably make it a family heirloom or some shit.

Pic related is what got me into collecting. Found it all at a single garage sale for 20 bucks.
