It's a little too obnoxious but the game "Hypnospace Outlaw" tries to capture the mid-to-late 1990s Internet feel. A bit too over-the-top for my taste but at least they make an earnest attempt.

I like finding small blogs from the late 90's and sadly seeing them fizzle out in the early 2000's for some reason or another. It's the closest you'd ever get to finding an abandoned building online. It's just full of things people used to talk about and discuss but now there's no one there anymore.

I'm not sure how big these sites were back in the day, but I still enjoyed looking through them today and seeing the opinions of people 20 years ago when the things they were reviewing were new.

I wish there were a registry of all the Tenchi Muyo! fan sites as there's one I used to browse that was hosted on geocities I think that I'd be happy to see again. There's also another Gundam modeling site which I used to browse for the reviews. I feel it might still be around.

I wonder how hard it is to find most of these nowadays, and I bet they aren't dumped on the internet either.
I remember buying from their online shop in 2001/2002, but right around that time, or 2003, they changed their whole website structure and stopped shipping overseas, I think they also kinda stopped doing software outside of a few ones, but I feel old Gainax was more devoted to PC software or CD-ROM releases.
