Yep, it's actually retro, as it's a port of a Wonder Swan game.

For some reason, in the west they released the first game on GBA but not the updated version, 1.5, that remains exclusive to the Wonder Swan.

Actually came only four years before Smash Bros.

Arcade exclusive. Port never.

IIRC, 1.5 came out in japan after we got Battle Spirits. They probably didn't think it'd be worth releasing another version here that only adds a few new characters.

The first Digimon World is possibly the most comfy game in existence, I hear the music, get a nostalgia rush and BOOM... I instantly need to poop

Digimon World: Next Order a little old, a little new. It's not retro so I'm not going any further with it.

my god my first gba game. I have the greatest memories of this game even if it isn't perfect. PLaying it during a bus trip at night, unlocking characters and the mini game was so cool. Fuck.

I feel so bad for northamericans, they've got the digimon adventure anime ost so fucked up.

For me it was Digimon World 3. One of the comfiest games I've ever played, I still replay it from time to time despite how mediocre the game actually is.

World 2 and 3 aren't even remotely similar to 1 dude. Yeah theres some nostalgia but World 1 was genuinely a great and challenging game

i loved 3 too, but something about 1 was so charming, the exploration and specific area items made it so rewarding to explore all over again multiple times. The game itself is broken and exploitable but it still managed to work somehow.

I liked all three but 2 just had a nice difference, even if the move restrictions sucked. Dammit time to go boot it back up.
