So I fished up my copy of Duke3D Atomic edition and a download of EDuke32 to play it.

What I want to know is what mods are fucking awesome outside the HRP? Also how good are the official addons?

In the Official addons, the ones that weren't shovelware are pretty solid throughout.

Discs like Duke!ZONE and Duke Assault are just tons of older fanmade maps on a CD. Most of them aren't really good and any notable fanmade thing will far outdo it. Especially if you're using EDuke.
