Developers at Nintendo of JP are very intuned of what really goes on with the real world for inspirational purposes. I say this because at the time, OoT's story line was inspired by Aryan imperialists robbing resources from countries less fortunate than theirs and rewriting history so any heroic prophets (Ganondorf) defending his nation (Gerudo Tribe) against secretly evil empires (Hyrule) would appear wrong and evil. Truth is, Link is just a misguided soldier and a brainwashed loyal dog that's just doing what he's told. Europe and the US raping the shit out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela for oil, stones, and minerals tells a very similar story in the game. Nintendo developers have very discreetly leaking their source of inspo.

Is dissing low-poly 3d games in favor of "old school" sprite games a total zoomer opinion or what?

I mean I can relate, to an extent, I really like 2d graphics, but as someone who was amazed by OoT's graphics when it came out I can't buy into this notion that only 2d games with minimal sprite tiling are allowed to have "good graphics".

Like you guys do realize that even low-poly 3d graphics allow you to do all sorts of things you could never do in a 2d game right? Stuff like: dynamic lighting and camera angles, nearly infinite number of model poses and animations, zooming in on stuff in a way that doesn't turn it into a pixelated mess, visually complex environs that make you say "what's over there?" and not "it's right there", complex movements across uneven terrain involving multiple actions, just being able to look at stuff, like anything you want, anytime you want. Meanwhile, ALttP has less than 1 MB worth of sprites arranged in matrices that are reasonably pleasing to the eye and feature periodic variances in composition, so neat, the trees have faces now.

I will tell you the truth about this game. It's really underrated and that's sad. People think it's a great game. But they don't know. They don't know about the Big Goron. THE BIG GORON will immerse you in an experience you have never imagined. It will feel different. Explain to me this: Why did the Big Goron need the eye drops? Because Ganon is a selfish prick who wouldn't give them up. He awakened his pet dragon Volvagia and made the mountain angry. That makes me mad. Ganondorf's castle is like a cathedral of rainbow colors and foreboding black architecture on the outside. Whichever way you spin it this game will always feature a man named Rauru who has a white mustache. It's just the way it is. Do you like action? Do you like pressing the A button? Do you like movement? Do a barrel roll! Dodongo dislikes smoke. So why does he hang out in a room with fire and sulfur? What the fuck. Ocarina of Time is a game that more than any other Zelda game features depictions of hell. That's kinda cool. Swing the sword with B.

When Agahnim collapses, Ganon's spirit leaves Agahim's body then turns into a bat and flies to the pyramid of power. OOT is a game that had ground-breaking graphics for its time. Additionally, it pioneered a lot of 3D game mechanics that you see used even today.

The minus is that the game's combat was significantly less challenging than its 3 predecessors, as well as requiring less play time to beat.

However, if you played this as your first Zelda then you didn't know about the room full of blue darknuts in level 5 that wrecked your shit for 3 days and the satisfaction you had when you finally got past that damn area.

In the end, it's overrated by appearing in the top 5 of any best-game-ever list, but it's a solid entry. I'd rate it as the 3rd best Zelda at the time of its release (LttP 1st, LoZ 2nd).
