OP here. I was actually kind of serious and thinking along the lines of: Games weren't marketed to girls at the time, and we like them because we grew up with them. Second: Girls are naturally worse at reflexes and reactions timing and are also generally more anxious so they enjoy games with a more relaxed, movie-like gameplay and presentation. I think there are also only very very few girls that care about the origins of games, their history, where ideas come from as well as the nerdy SOUL. (which is why me, a 23 yo, is into retro) Hence 99% of girls that are into games got into them recently and never show up here.

Well, how many were there? There were Boyd that played with Barbie too or watched Vixx. You can easily tell what kind of games girls play by going on eBay and checking for more recent consoles that are being sold (often by girls since they tend to be more orderly and take care of things, which is amusing) and you see that they're mostly slow paced, building or franchise games.
