I don't want to be that guy and tell you how you should have fun but MM is my favorite Zeldo too and I don't recommend you play it if the original is within your reach. It adds very little of value and changes a lot of the movement, combat, atmosphere, and generally isn't as faithful as OoT3D was. For whatever reason MM was your favorite, MM3D almost certainly fucks with it in some way.

The joke was that Master Quest was like one of those "hardcore" ROM hacks that changes a few things around but doesn't really add or remove anything to change the game significantly, it just sorta jumbles the dungeons. I guess the joke was bad and I should kill myself.
