What are some great racing games on the PlayStation? I've been playing pic related and Gran Turismo for the past couple of days, and they have been pretty great. Kart, Sim, Arcade, it doesn't matter. I'd just like to know what other great racing games there are.

get a dreamcast or n64, psx racing games are garbage

Dreamcast is garbage. It’s no wonder it killed Sega and had most of its library ported.

Could you name examples of good racers on those consoles? I was just asking for PlayStation racing games because that's what I'm playing on at the moment.

Wipeout 3 Time Attack

Not only the best racer on PS1 by far, but one of the finest arcade racing game ever, ever

No, the Saturn and Genesis add-ons killed Sega. Dreamcast was great and almost saved them but it wasn't quite enough.

Anyway, dismissing a console because it wasn't "successful" is full retard, but I guess that's your brain on So(y)ny.

>had most of its library ported.
More like 10% of its library. Also playing ports is for cucks, since most of the time the ported version is inferior.

What to glib from this is that, basically, if it was made by Psygnosis on the PSX? Get it.

This applies to all genres, by the way. G-Police kicks ass.

doesn't matter when 50%+ of the dreamcast's library was arcade ports :\

>mfw my dumbshit ass completely forgot about the Test Drive series.

Test Drive: Off Road
Test Drive: Off Road 2
Test Drive 5
Test Drive 6
Test Drive Le Mans (Le Mans 24 Hours)

All of these are more arcade save for the last one which does have more sim aspects to it. Now, it does have a DC Port which is okay, but the PSX port is superior. Reason being is that the PSX one is more involved with engine management during the race. It's just a better experience AND it's honestly pretty cheap to pick up.

I keep hearing that G-Police is pretty good. Gonna have to look into it.

Gravity Kills was pretty great. The the tracks are from is their self titled release.

It's a pretty unique experience. Think of it as a VTOL Ace Combat in a 90's sci-fi cyberpunk setting with film noir elements thrown in for flavor.

It can be hard to find the PC version, I found, but if it's an option, yes.

>>5422384
For Karts, there's no competition: Crash Team Racing. I honestly think it's the best kart racer, hands down.

For arcade, Type 4, Jet Moto, Rollcage, Wipeouts, and NFSIII are all outstanding.

For sim, Rally Cross can be frustrating but rewarding since cars feel like they actually have weight. If that's not your thing, CART world series provides great tracks and some really impressive damage effects for the time.

Don't forget Wipeout 3 Special Edition. It has remakes of eight tracks from the earlier games, and tweaked physics/handling. Also, get a NeGcon.
