SonSon II is a capcom game published by NEC Avenue, it was a joint effort but developed in house at capcom.

the megaman 2 composer worked on it as well as the pce port of sidearms

I love me some Soldier Blade, probably my favourite shooter on the console. Some of my other favourites are:

Bonks' Revenge (favourite bonk game)
Final Lap Twin (best racer on TG16)
Neutopia II (much better than the first one apart from those long ass passwords)
Jackie Chan action kung fu (excellent action platformer)
Bomberman 93
Air Zonk
Legendary Axe 1+2 (don't know which one I like more)
New Adventure Island

Also mentioning Legend of Hero Tonma, even though it is a port I beat it last weekend and I thought it was really fun. Basically a run n gun, with the same kind of theme as Ghosts n goblins, with 2 player coop. Don't know if the arcade version is any better but I had a blast with this one.

I love how "pick up and play" the console and it's library is.
