what game can you remember that was the most dissapointing game if your childhood?

I'm going to get a lot of shit for this but this game isn't as bad as most people make it out to be. At least the genesis version. I mean, it's still a mediocre fighting game, but there's a lot worse ones out there.

For me it was Earthworm Jim. The first two levels were ace then I couldn't do that submarine bit and just abandoned it eventually.

I remember being really resentful the game had so much promise and aesthetic appeal but shat all over it by pulling this shit.

I swapped it for Sim City with a kid from school - I still don't regret it.

Grew up a poor, white trash kid. At one point in my life all I had for entertainment was a Genesis, MK2, and Shaq Fu. I got really really good at MK2. Any MOH game post MOH:AA was a huge disappointment for me except Airborne. I must be one of a dozen people on this planet who loved Airborne.

FF8, bar none. I actually thought the demo was great, too. In fact the first disc was fine, maybe not quite up to my standards based on FF7, but once I got to the prison it just felt like the game was peeing in my face. I stopped somewhere around there.

I’ve beaten the game as an adult but I’ll tell you if I could get that time back, I definitely would. I feel no better for having experienced it all.

The first disc is pretty good because the story remains cohesive as a sort of James Bondesque spy thriller. But the instant disc 2 boots up that story cohesion just falls apart and never recovers.

well yeah doing that took up a good chunk of time as well as having certain weapons do better at harming certain enemies so you were always juggling weapons because one sword hurts lizard men better than your other nearly identical sword, but i'm a sucker for dungeon crawlers and i thought the presentation was impeccable

I've thanked my brother for my entire gaming childhood. Every decision I get btfo and he knocks it out of the park. Mom says I can get any game, I almost go mario bros deluxe over banjo just because of the fucking awesome artwork again, no doubt in my mind it'd look cutting edge. Couldn't believe it was just nothing. World map was cool though.

Granted I didn't play it as a kid. Had I it might have seemed to hard. The rest of the game last level especially gets pretty nasty in parts too so all might be for the best.

Yoshi.
To be fair I was a dumb kid that only judged a game by the picture on the box. I didn't even read the part about it being a puzzle game.
I fucking loved that cute dino from Super Mario World, he used to be my favorite all time video game character before they destroyed him from Yoshi Story onward.
Well how excited was I to think he got his own game and I'd be doing some platforming with the green dino, eating Goombas, bloopers, piranah plants, and boos.
But no, it ended up being the worst of all the Mario Puzzle spinoffs.

Brothers and I saved up and bought Superman 64 when it came out. Holy shit it’s worse than you’ve heard. I’m not sure how it got shipped, there isn’t any design in the levels, just fog and a few items. It’s like an elaborate test demo was approved for full sale price. Remember we paid $50 back the. Which was still a lot of money for me when I was in HS

platoon for nes.
back then my brothers n i would get about 4 games a year. (1 for each of or bdays n 1 for xmas) and platoon was 1 of the least played.
itd suck when you'd get a new game that was just complete shit. but then you knew you had fallbacks already in your arsenal like megaman 2 or superC.
then youd just wait a few months for the next game and hope for the best.
