This is indisputably the best theme in the X series.

I don't know man I never really liked the intro stage theme in MMX1. The Stage Select Theme through is bitchin

To me MMX1’s intro stage is one of the only times a game tried to be “X-TREME” or “kickass” and actually succeeded. I mean I think that’s what they were going for. The hilarious Japanese TV commercial seems to indicate this, like “You already know Mega Man... but wait til you see X!” If you’re able to put yourself in that kind of mindset, it makes that stage way cooler.

That's fair man, I know it's not a bad theme but compared to X4, X5 and X6's intro themes it just doesn't hit as hard for me

Good stuff, I always forget about Armored Armadillo's theme until I replay the game, but I know I enjoy it though.

Why did Megaman X music weigh so heavily on my little 9 year old heart as a boy?
Everything about x4 felt like almost crying, it captured such a feeling of longing in me. I borrowed it from a friend once and I remember that whole week.

I don't even watch anime and I'm not trying to make my little toys sound important or deep - something about this stupid game really touched me in a bittersweet place.

X4's tracks are so damn emotional man. It may be the constant high pitch of the guitar and synth, or how the chord structure is formed. Whatever it is, I'd say it has the most emotional soundtrack in all Megaman games not just X

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In8sUYVkvNE

This track, for example, embodies the sound of a worldwide crisis breaking out as they speak and they must make quick decisions to avoid absolute ruin

>Why did Megaman X music weigh so heavily on my little 9 year old heart as a boy?
Honestly? Probably because you were 9. If you were a child in the late 90's when this game came out, chances are it was your first real exposure to "darker" storytelling. War is Hell, people lose their loved ones, conspiracies breed distrust between people who should be allies...

Looking at it as an adult, the story isn't anything exceptional, but as a young lady who was only just starting to become politically aware, it kind of blue my mind. Also the music is really good, the anime-style art is edgy and sharp, Zero's hot.... this game is just really, really good. Double is an absolute woobie, his plot twist is absolutely heartbreaking. And Isis is a fucking princess, why did she have to die?! She should have been Zero's spotter in the later X games! Layer sucks!

also whenever it's snowy outside I always picture this song in my head

Can we all at least agree the X games got among the most god tier music in all of gaming? Not going to lie, I think the music is probably half of what makes these games.

>> No.5393363

100% friend! I don't think the games would have done nearly as well or be as fondly remembered if the music was mediocre

It's up there with Castlevania for me.
By the way someone posted this a while back, it might appeal to those wanting more of that raw synth rocking melodic sound from Mega Man X, it's from a japanese band or artist
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMQZlPAuuXM
Actually reminds me of a mix between X and Castlevania, sound and composition-wise.
Wish I could understand the lyrics though.
