Should the sky color in Doki Doki Panic be teal or turquoise? What is the most authentic-vania experience for the game?

This is getting out of hand.

In Super Mario USA, the sky color should be the blue seen on the US flag, in honor of the game's release in the USA. The sky in the original Doki Doki Panic, should be the color of the sky in SMB2 (Japanese), given the game's self-aware nature of being a Japanese exclusive *version* (again, Japan exclusive like the then Japan-exclusive SMB2 FDS release) of the game which would be later released under the name Super Mario Bros. 2 in the USA.

But what color should the sky be in super Mario bros USA (Japan's Japan only release of smb2 usa)?

If you can't remember it shouldn't matter. Just play the game and enjoy it.

The same as US SMB2, again to honor the release in the USA. Perhaps it was a subtle jab at the overt patriotism observed in the USA.

A purplish blue, same as SMB was intended, according to the artist himself. Anyone else is trolling or ill-informed. This color palette was specifically chosen to be displayed on CRT screens due to how they represent colors.
