She looks nearly identical; same hair colour, same eyes, same expressions and mannerisms. The image has an arrow pointing to her indicating progression. The only difference is a more SD appearance.

Your explanation that this her at different ages is also very suspect, especially as the arrow's direction would be going in the other direction had that been the case (and if this indeed a different person, why would the ages matter again?) In fact judging by your attitude, I actually doubt it says that and you're just having a go. Especially as older/shrunk version looks exactly the same as the instructor in the game. Now if there are indeed time travel cosmic ray shenanigans, fine. But floofy robot gals who are somewhat SD are also rather suitable for this thread, ain't they? A reasonable topic of discussion, especially considering what goes on in floof threads over in /m/.

But let's leave that aside and look at what we have here? An instructor, who according to you is the person who briefs Hitomi on what to do in the game, is also Hitomi but shrunk down and sent to the past to instruct her younger self? You know, the game never really mentioned that when I was playing it. Or showed any sign of it. In fact, despite having played Burning Force a lot and been following the game's art and such for years, this is literally the first time I've heard of time travel shenanigans shrinking down Hitomi and sending her to the past to teach herself. The idea that this would be obvious to anyone is a bit silly, as is assuming everyone here speaks japanese.

As for 'your threads', I've posted tons in this thread, in other threads on this subject matter and so on. That's not Hiromi, that's another girl, but she looks similar, however the hairstyle is different and it's meant to be someone else. I can see how this confusion could arise because the floof looks sort of similar from the front and could be mistaken for the long hair down the back being hidden.

i don't generally associate Burning Force with Marvel tier cosmic radiation. A clone or a robot or cyborg body would be my first thought considering the media at the time and what's shown in games, OVAs, etc from that period.

i tried with Aseprite but it stretched the picture even further then 640x400 which is what Pc88 & Pc98 used.

btw this pic was made by me, the lineart was done on Aseprite (but using normal pixels) and the brushes were from CSP, ones i downloaded on assets (but it misses the vertical square pixels)

for the atsuko fukune pic i did, i sthick with the palette limit of pic related and using dithering to simulate the effect i wanted.
