Picrel doesn't come from actual game. Background was treated with Gigapixel AI software. 3D models were taken from in-game, that is rendered with 8x internal resolution thanks to the Retroarch Beetle PSX HW core.

The Dreamcast version would look better upscaled.

is that really a crt filter?

looks like some old cellphone display. makes everything harder to see, with none of the actual benefits of a crt.
seriously, is this a shitpost or a joke I'm missing?

If you open up their texture file, you can see that the naked zombies at the end of the game had dongs, too.

Outstanding. We don't need that upscaled and enhanced tho.

I'm playing with neural nets for upscaling the video for RE3. Please inform me of which of these images you think looks best. Let me know if you want the individual images to compare instead of this.

>>5377554
Also, keep in mind that's a 4k image so you'll want to view it in it's own tab on 100% zoom to properly compare.

there should be a way of playing the psx version with the saturn's 2d backgrounds, then run this in retroarch with the beetle psx hw core with PGXP enabled and that might be the best original RE experience...

Is teh upscaler spatially coherent enough for this job? I can imagine this leading to a lot of warping and artifacts over time.

>> No.5377607

I think the top left did the best job of fixing the checkerboarding without losing too much detail in the clothes of the zombie. However, the color for the burns on his arm and shoulder lose a lot of red for some reason, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'd have to see how it does on the rest of the video I guess.

Can you elaborate? The elimination of artifacts is my primary goal and so far most of the solutions I have tried have (imo) resulted in an improvement in regards to that. However, there is a little bit of a tradeoff. Generally speaking, the more you want to eliminate artifacts, the more loss of desirable data you will see also.
