Actually fuck it, this is what I think about Terranigma:
It's a good game with a simplistic battle system, but it works when you get the hang of it to the point it never really gets boring or repetitive. So it lacks complexity, you get a few spells but mostly it's just using your goddamn weaponry. One issue: The leveling system makes it so at times you'll feel either under or overpowered, nothing in between.
Bloody Mary is one of the things everyone remembers from this game because it's a boss that is quite difficult at the point where you fight it, and then the rest of the game feels so much fucking easier. Not balanced difficulty wise. However after doing that it feels pleasant, like you kinda got rid of that fucking fiend that didn't let you enjoy the game.
Some things are not too obvious, I had two particular problems: One was throwing the three stones down that fucking pit at the beginning, which took me a while to actually figure out. The other one, a door that undead people would go through and I couldn't notice it existed, so I kept running in circles.
I liked the story quite a bit, it's pretty memorable and original in comparison to anything else really. Like I said I'm a brainlet so I can't overanalyze the later parts of the game but it was pretty interesting. It's weird, because the first time I tried this game I assumed that the dark world was pretty much the whole game (mainly because I never really got past that). It opening up the way it did changed my perception. Side content was nice too. Going around the map never felt unpleasant.
And the music gets praised a lot, because it's honestly good. I liked this game a lot.
