No that was all my idea. I just got back from a house fire and decided to change it up. I made the room into a music studio with all my guitars, amps, pedals, mics, and audio interfaces. I put my computer in there too and all my music CDs. The two closets in the room were filled with junk so I cleared them both out, one is all my videogame shit and the other is a vocal booth, since it has a door. This way I don’t have a videogame man cave anymore, but an open spaced music room, which used to clutter up my living room. There’s enough space for a drumset now whereas we used to use the garage for that.

Spoiler pic is the wall that used to be the previous vg setup

A connection inside yours might just need to be re-soldered or just cleaned. I have no problems so far with mine. I have it connected through s-video for my Saturn, N64 and SNES. I took it apart last night actually as I am moving some of my space to a man cave. It has a silver bar inside of it that slides left and right and I can't clearly see the connectors to clean them. All the visible solder points looked legit. IF I press the button down a bit further than where it rests, the connection is clear, but if not it is lacking in color. It only effects one point out of 4, so I am not sweating it too bad. I didn't do much more than take it apart and decide that I didn't want to fuck with it. It did not look like how I expected it to look, and I didn't proceed. If I need one, I will buy another new one, but 3 out of 4 systems work without issue.

That's exactly where mine is. It's not a nook, but an old, wood-paneled sunroom right off of our living room. It's super cozy, and it's nice to be able to play vidya and still interact with people in the living room. Last Summer, my wife was playing Octopath Traveler and I was like 6 feet away playing FF7. He got laughed out after posting his horrible RCA/hotglue/dremel mods again and again. He posted them on some other boards and got ridiculed there, too. He was basically just going out of his way to mutilate his systems and make convoluted setups just so he could say he was doing things differently than everyone else was. He modded his systems to output RGB through RCA ports, but then had this awful switcher setup that required two fucking AV receivers.

I was only a regular in crt generals for about a year. After that, you get sick of just seeing the same posts again and again. Plus, the more time passes, the more those threads are just filled with zoomers that don't actually know shit about CRTs.

Thanks! I was trying to use authentically retro components for everything. The speakers are from 2010-ish, but the next newest thing is the monitor which was 1997. The equalizer is 1993, the VCR is 1990, and the amplifier is 1977.

Authentic retro battlestation photo from my childhood bedroom circa 2000. I took this with one of those shitty mini-polaroid cameras I got for Christmas. Sadly, most of my consoles are out of frame, but you kind of see my Sega Genesis with Earthworm Jim 2 underneath the TV and to the right. I used that TV to play every video game I ever had from 87 to 2009.

There's an old IBM PC on the floor that I got from my dad's garage when they were going to toss it out. You can see the microphone propped up against the TV speaker, I used to make .wavs from TV show themes and movies and stuff.
