I really liked this one, mainly because the last part of the game has this great feeling of finality to it. When you finally reach Sigma, and he turns into this thing, complete with the more despairing and less hard rock final battle theme, it really feels like it's the last time.

And it was even going to be, fucking Capcom.

Ended so epic. It came down to my Charizard vs. his Blastoise. By all rights, I should have been destroyed, but he just kept missing, and my Fire Spin just kept widdling down a little bit more health at a time.

I always liked the Grunty fight for a couple of reasons. First off, it makes use of all of the abilities you have acquired throughout the game, which really showcases how good you've gotten at the skills by that point. Second, it maintains the game's humor with Grunty and B&K trading comments during the fight. Lastly, it brings in a reason for your collecting Jinjos the whole time. Does anyone know if it's possible to get to the Grunty fight without collecting any Jinjos?

Its hard to define greatest cause there can be great in a lot of ways theres atmosphere, Scale, How fun it was, how much it defined you as a gamer. Of course theres also just those boss battles that you can reply over and over and never get tired of because the boss fight is the pinnacle of what that game is.

To me though just that moment in gaming I treasure was the first time i heard this guy start singing.

I still, 16 years later have fond memories of my first time reaching this boss. As the music started, I was expecting some huge ass thing to come out the RIGHT side of the screen, and was pretty focused looking there.

That caused me not to notice immediately Bowser rising out of the darkness, until he started coming out the darkness and covering the yellow sky.

I agree completely, I played Tekken 6 at my friend's house and bombed through the arcade mode only to get to this enormous purple demon thing that doesn't fucking flinch when you hit it, or really abide to any 'rules' of the gameplay itself.

i used to look forward to final bosses in fighting games because they were meant to be the strongest fighter in the tournament, but recently they've just become demons or final fantasy rejects. Alpha 3 Bison is pretty bullshit, but at least he's still Bison and abides to the laws of the game.

Say what you want about DK64, but the K.Rool fight in that game is fucking awesome. You fight him as all 5 kongs in order, and if you die you have to restart from the first Kong if I remember correctly. so the tension builds as you go through the fight. It takes place in a boxing arena with commentators talking in between each round, and each character's ability is used in their segment to test how good you've gotten while playing the game.

So, I can't actually remember most of this game, despite playing through it on three separate occasions. It was pretty forgettable.
But the end boss was fucking epic.

Fighting a massive dragon bigger than the fucking screen on top of a flying techno-fortress, with your team mates constantly charging up your weapon so you can hurt the damn thing. With incredible music.

That's just the level title, not the name of the "boss". I always found it to be a really dull climax, the first time I saw it I didn't even realise it was supposed to be a boss. I saw it as a wall texture. Shooting rockets into a hole in a wall brought the game to an abrupt halt and I was left wondering what I even did to trigger the ending and why I didn't fight a boss.
