You'll need a decent CPU to run it properly. Testing it now, I get an average 133% speed on my i5-8600k, but that drops down to as low as 102% speed during really busy moments, so this is probably around minimum for 60/60 fps gameplay (unless you overclock). I'm pretty sure the old gen i7 in my cocktail cab is an i7-2600k and no way could this run it smoothly stock, it just doesn't have the single core performance.

Or you could just download one of the more recent sets off of the internet archive, and update yourself using the mega links from retroroms. Or download the curated, merged, and current romset from the other chan's /vr/. I can understand people going through planetemu for MAME stuff, since they are pretty recent, but I dunno why people are still going through emuparadise and edgeemu for MAME roms when they are so horribly out of date.

On some levels there’s a beautiful sun reflection effect on the cars which is simply mind blowing for such old hardware.
