A friend of mine is selling his due to him going through a divorce, he is selling it for 80 bucks, is it worth it or should I avoid it like the plague? It comes with X-men cota, mk3, hotd, and resident evil. It's complete without the box.

Jump on that, you can't do better.

As usual, if you need someone to tell you whether or not to buy something, you shouldn't fucking buy it. Let someone who knows they want it get it.

For $80 bucks a working saturn with games
Yes it's worth it.

Even if you don't like it you can resell it

I'd buy it for $80 without the games
The fact he is giving games with it is a bonus.

Buy it, then flip it back to him for twice the price when he's over his life crisis and comes begging for it back. Tell him sorry that it shot up in the mean time and you have no control over market value and "that's business".

kek and doubtful. As long as the games aren't "complete without the box" it's a good deal.

>> No.5301445

The Saturn is a great console. It has a lot of genre variety, although most of the good games are 2D or might as well be 2D (like Nights). $80 is a little high for just the console but you're getting games so I'd say it's worth it.

>> No.5301452

No. Saturn has barely any exclusives worth playing, the library is mostly arcade ports and untranslated jarpigs/VN's. You should just download mednafen and play the few games it has worth trying out that way.

>> No.5301613

I'd say its worth it.
I bought a Saturn for £50 once. Came with a broken copy of clockwork night, a broken copy of sonic jam, and a bunch of trash cheapo games.
Then I got a knock-off action replay cart for £10 and flashed Pseudo Saturn onto it with the disc swap trick to play backups on it.
Worth the price of admission for Panzer Dragoon Zwei.

Actually I lie. It did have Virtual Fighter, Daytona USA, two copies of Sega Rally, and Alien Trilogy. The rest were trash. But the first versions of Virtual Fighter and Daytona USA are vastly inferior to the redone versions that came out later.

I played 50 for a sega saturn and 50 for shipping
It came from japan I couldn't find an american working one.

OP might not be into the saturn style games.

I only like the saturn because the system had tons of fully detailed 2-d games.

The seller might not want to sell it if he was aware of pseudosaturn carts.

Of course not. I just put part 1 there to save space. It's really more a collective entry as naturally you'd want to play all three after beating one.

I’m familiar with Saturn’s glut of arcade ports, shooters, fighters, etc. Are there any good “chill” games that don’t require much thought or reflexes?

I recently purchased a Saturn. Absolutely worth the $80 I spent. Came in the box with only a disk of Street Fighter Alpha/Zero. Games are pretty pricey on this thing so selling even HotD-(NTSC) will make your money back. Playing backups is a simple and much more affordable option. Hope you like imports and Shmups!

It's pretty straight forward for an SRPG, you could probably power through it with no trouble. Id still like to get the story bits though, myself so Id sooner get the PS1 version. Am curious how the Saturn port runs though. But man I love that game.
