>That one time Electronic Arts made a 2D Japan only Saturn fighting game based on the Chinese Zodiac using JoJo style stands.

Man that was weird. Anyone play this? Shit's weird. Kind of alright but weird as fuck.

The game looks awesome a really well done sf2 type of game.

I wish the saturn got a full 5 year support and a console price drop.

Even if the system still failed we would of gotten 2 more years of high quality 2-d games.

I certainly would have liked to see what weird stuff they could have come up with.

EA was just the publisher you tosser.

The only game Aorn ever made was this and frankly I doubt they're even real. And even if they where that EA would publish a Japan only anime fighter? Weird.

Both arcade and Saturn version were done by Aorn which was formed by several industry freelancers. It remained their only release. Most of the people went on to work at Capcom and Namco.

Well that makes a lot of sense.

Do not seek logic or even sanity behind decisions in this industry in Japan. Even today a lot of things are decided when executives go out golfing or drinking together.

The game looks like their portfolio to land a job at capcom

Well the freelancers did a good job and I'm glad Namco and capcom hired them.

I love the game. Spent some great time with frieds playing new and different fighting games back then. EA did make some memorable great games.

Awesome game, vibrant art style, top tier waifus, and the best part no tourneyfag autism since you can't play it online.

This is a myth, japs love all the popular shit that's created in America. They didn't care about Mortal Kombat very much but I can't blame them, MK is shit.

>Michael Pachter, the well-known analyst, tells a funny story about this one time when Activision boss Bobby Kotick visited Tokyo. "Bobby walked into a games store and he was delighted to see a big pile of Activision games, underneath a huge sign," retells Pachter. "He asked what the sign said. An interpreter politely translated - 'Western Dogshit'."

You can see the same art style in backgrounds for later cps2 games like pocket fighter.

Besides EA published a few more games for the japanese market. It was probably part of a failed asia expansion strategy.

Rabbit is lots of fun. I wish EA did not stop supporting Japanese development as they did back then.

>>5294417
I only have the original Road Rash for the SegaCD, but I have yet to play it. It doesn't seem like the kind of game that caters to my taste in games. However, I did forget SSX Tricky in the prior pic of EA games I did play.

The EA logo is on the lower right of Rabbit, upper right of Soukyugurentai Otokuyo (the budget release with added demos), and upper left of Battle Garegga. The EA games I have that I have not played are the non-Saturn ones here.
