Sorry but this level from Gradius (NES) is literally impossible

I've been playing it for hours over several days and I can't progress at all. It's simply not possible. There isn't any way to navigate the random O's. I am using save states and my ship is fully powered with shields and I still cannot survive for more than a minute of this level.

Fuck it. I canceled my Switch Online subscription because fuck paying for defective products like this. Don't know how this series ever became popular. This kind of explicitly impossible difficulty is totally unacceptable to me.

Nemesis is lightly easier than Gradius to clear, harder to no miss though. Reason is that recovery is easier in Nemesis, but rank is also higher. In other words:
In Nemesis it's easier to die, but easier to get strong again after dying and overall easier to beat the loop.
In Gradius it's harder to die but when you do it's tougher to get strong again and is thus overall slightly harder to 1-ALL

I bet you're abusing save states, not just using them. If you do that then it skews your perception and a difficult games seems to be impossible because you're saving and loading dozens and dozens of times and not actually trying as good as you could be.
