What would have happened to sega, if they never made the saturn, 32 bit,or 64 bit systems. Along with less retarded business decisions, do you think sega could have made it to the modern era in console making, or do you think they would have still failed.

saturn sold better than n64 in japan

Not a chance. I love Sega, but they're nowhere near big enough to compete with huge corporations like Sony and Microsoft.

>release the Sega CD
>use it as a platform for upgraded versions of Genesis games with CD quality audio, more frames of animation, maybe extra levels, etc.
>none of that FMV multimedia bullshit
>market it as an enthusiasts machine
>never release the 32x
>release the Saturn as a 2D machine with simpler architecture
>actually release it when you say you're going to release it
>force Sonic Team to actually develop the next main line Sonic game for it
>again, market your device as the enthusiasts machine with more accurate arcade ports, faster framerates, etc.
>release the Dreamcast exactly the way they did it IRL

There, I saved Sega.

The dreamcast was doing okay in the US when sega of japan decided to pull the plug. You can trace every stupid decision that forced sega out of the console business back to sega of japan.

lol

That's because the Saturn actually had games in Japan. And was supported for like 3 more years in Japan.
>>5252451
Dreamcast launch was indeed perfect. I'm not touching the rest of your post.
>>5252669
You're correct except for Peter Moore. Xbox sellout internal sabotage in Sega of America.

Sega could have the goose that laid the golden eggs and their dumb asses would cook it for supper.

but they wouldn't of been sega if they didn't make those irratical, boneheaded decesion. Outside of teh genesis everything they did, and I do mean everything, was fucking idiotic. the Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, and to a lesser extent the Dreamcast was all botched.
