They're absolutely a 90s meme. They can work and on drives where you can't clean the lens easily are ok if your problem is a dirty lens.

You're better off disassembling and cleaning with a q-tip and alcohol but I've used these before to some success.

If you have something on the lens of your CD drive, you usually have piles of hair, dust and god knows what else caked inside of your system.

It usually is pretty bad.

if i have issues this is usually the first thing i try. and it's fixed disc-read issues a few times for me.
