Dragon Quest 3 is good. Earthbound is good, yeah a meme with an ass for a fanbase, but it's still good.

Eh, I like Dungeon Crawlers that focus on not getting lost, resource management and surviving the mazes. Things like Phantasy Star 1 or SMT.

I keep telling myself to go back and play this game more. I still think it's a great rpg that's way to often overlooked. And it's in an era of history I enjoy especially games of. Good taste anon

You don't need a translation, the story is just a series of fetch quests. Learn kana and go to town.

>"Everything about this game holds up today except for the graphics"
I will never get over such pleb opinions as this. The chibi models are fine, they're just cute enough to be on the charming side of simple and not the "ugly" side, and the pre-rendered backgrounds are still fantastic.

If anything doesn't hold up, it's the pacing of the game. It never really lets you off the chain until disc 2. Before that, it's pretty much just a railroad from town to town where you get drowned in dialogue and cutscenes.

Also
>Skies of Arcadia
>wonderful battle system
Kek, the battle system in that game is one of the weakest parts. It's essentially a bog-standard turn-based affair released in the year 2000 where it was already painfully outdated. There were plenty of JRPGs on earlier systems that had way more innovative and interesting battle systems.

Don't get me wrong, Skies of Arcadia is one of my favorite games of all time, but not for the battle system. Literally everything BUT the battle system is worth talking about.
