Alpha 2 is better as a balanced game, but I prefer Alpha 3 for funsies because of the roster

Alpha 2 is a much more balanced game, with better stage art and a better score. Alpha 3 is a great singleplayer game and is fun for casual party play, and its huge amount of variety makes it a very enjoyable game to experiment with, but I wouldn't call it better than alpha 2.

but the ps1 version is the only one with world tour mode.

i loved alpha 3 on any format.

alpha 2 has some sick stages though. notably uhh i think ryu or sagat's stage with the grass and lightning.

personally...capcom vs snk 2 for whatever reason is the one i play most.
