By being cuter and a lot of fun. Not quite as big or impressive on first glance but there's a lot there if you just give it a chance.

Nintendownies, everyone

I remember trying the Lynx thanks to a rich kid that had it. It was fairly impressive, like a better Game Gear.
No chance in hell it would sell, but not that bad of an effort for a late Atari console.

Are spelling tests a thing of the past now? and that vcr of a gameboy took something like 8-16 batteries to turn on for 30 minutes.

This battery meme again...
Ac adapters, car-lighter adapters, recharge packs all existed.

I only ever ran off of AAs when I was in a bind, which was fucking never. You were going on any 4 hour train rides in the US, thats for sure.

there wasn't room an AC adapter for that when your mom had her curling iron, hair dryer, three George Foreskin Grills plugged in making waffles for dinner, a toast your brother is using to fling frisbies at you, dads SONY plasma screen to watch fooseball, grandma's radio to listen to polski fm chicago, and your sister's hp laptop with the mouse ball in the side of the screen so she can AIM her boo.

>selling more than 5 units.
That's weird because my childhood best friend had two in succession (he dropped the Mk1 out of a window so his dad bought him a Mk2 with Batman Returns) and I currently have 3.

Great system btw and you can easily get 5-6 hours play from modern batteries, be they alkaline or rechargeable. 4 player portable Gauntlet as in OP's pic is an experience every gamer needs to have.
