This game is incredibly fun, a little action RPG. The translation, however is so sad... so very, very sad.

Gamefan liked anything other magazines didn't like.
They also got a lot of information wrong. I remember when they were previewing FFVIII and they claimed Laguna gave Squall his scar. Then in their fan art section someone sent a drawing of Sephiroth and they described it as being from Castlevania.
Someone sent their fanfic on how FFVII should have ended and they shat all over it, but I thought it was a good read. This was all in pic related, I remember buying the issue in an airport on my way to France in 98... I don't know why I remember this particular magazine so lividly.

Balls always seemed funny to me, not in that sophomoric testicle humor, but that there was once a time where it was just easier to make things out of balls and have people use their imagination fill the rest.
What other games used the ball aesthetic?

Off the top of my head: Adventures of Batman And Robin on genesis has a boss made out of balls. Vectorman is literally balls. Medusa in Castlevania Bloodlines is very ballsy. There are many more balls heavy games from that generation. If boss has a long neck or tail - it's usually balls.

Redump sets are missing more games than they have actually dumped. There are dozens of pre-existing release groups who have already released completed sets. There's no reason to use redump.
In 6 months to a year's time there'll be some new group that everyone will be falling over themselves trying to collect and nobody will remember redump by then.

>A Link to the Past, while not an Action RPG, a lot of the bosses featured balls

Once you break down the turn-based vs. real time, and everything becomes real time, genres really start to blend. So, games like Zelda are low on the RPG elements, while other game are much higher. But it's still there. So the genre like "action rpg" is a bit of a misnomer. They're all top down or side scrolling action games, some just have higher or lower rpg elements than others.

>> No.5202667

>>5202658
Zelda 2 is the only one with RPG elements. If your character's performance isn't tied to underlying stats that are managed with experience, then it isn't an RPG.
