So you're actually saying it's bad for a first party to make games for their own consoles?
God forbid it!

You're implying Nitendo, but you're describing literally every company which has made a console ever.

Why are you trying to twist my words like that? I'm not talking about theoretical console makers, but actual ones.

Unfortunately that's how it has worked in the vidya industry, the shittiest bastards have prospered while all of the good companies have fallen.

Uuuh, how is this a problem? Are you mad that you never got to play Nintendo games growing up?

you say Nintendo engages in some of the shittiest business practices, which is true, but you're saying it's because they only make games for their own consoles and they're hard to pirate? Are you out of your fucking mind? In the last 10 years Nintendo consoles and handhelds have consistently been cracked wide open over and over again.

Couldn't agree more. Whether you like Nintendo's first party line-up in either older or newer platforms is up for debate but it's no secret that the more recent ones are incredibly easy to softmod and use homebrew software on them. People recommend to use a N3DS as a portable emulation station or the Wii to use on a CRT all the time on this board.

SNK didn't control a significant enough portion of the home market(in fact, they controlled almost literally none of it) to make exclusivity profitable to them. The AES cost $1,200 and games for it cost about $350 apiece (prices adjusted for inflation). They figured that they could make more money raking in royalties from ports than they could trying futilely to push a $1,200 machine that played games on $350 cartridges (which probably didn't even turn much profit, considering they were just consolized arcade boards, essentially).

Why are Nintentoddlers allowed on this board? They're a fucking embarrassment and make real mature gamers like me look bad for even occupying the same board as me.

>b-but Nintendo excelled at making platformers!

Bullshit, Nintendo didn't excel at one god damn thing. I take that back, actually. They excel at one thing. Nintendo excels at being for bing bing wahoo babies and manchildren who run away when they see blood because they are immature babyfags and can't handle a deep, dark, serious game like I can. Sega and Sony had games that reflected the inner darkness of my soul from having two Christmases since my parents were divorced, while Nintendo did kiddy shit because nintentoddlers are fucking babies who never had to rough it in high school like real people, like me, who had to deal with bullies and preppy douchebags since they didn't understand my real power...

Is that why smash ultimate was leaked and easily pirated weeks before release? >>5185394

It wasn't only in private, the acclaimed fan translation team offered their work and complied to any further assistance in order for the game to see release in public as well.
