I wish Nintendo would do some sort of annotated development edition of SM64 and OOT where you can play the game at various stages in development with commentary on what changed. I'm sure a lot of people would pay quite a bit for that.

It's been long enough that they wouldn't be giving away any internal secrets by doing that. I guess it gamedev in the 90s, they wouldn't have source control or anything, but they should at least have the monthly builds in the archive somewhere. I guess with very early versions of SM64 you'd have issues with the N64 hardware that's targeted not yet being fully stable yet, but that's it.

This is how games should be remastered. Take original sprite work, and just expand the viewing screen to 16:9. It's also done by the same devs at Natsume, the original team. So make sure to buy the Wild Guns Remastered, and then this to support the actual devs.

Because it's taking the old game's assets, and putting them in a new engine, and increasing the view to 16:9 and high resolution. It looks way more natural, and costs less, and takes less time, then fully remaking the game in 3D or with HD 2D.

This is how old games should be remastered. Imagine if Super Metroid or SotN got this treatment?

Little Big Adventure was a product of the pre-Mario 64 3D era. They still hadn't figured out how camera should work in third-person 3D yet. That carried over into the sequels as well.

I'm pretty sure LBP did not use prerendered backgrounds for those areas. the background is redrawn from 3d models when the camera angle changes. the webm is being recorded on a modern computer, I remember changing the camera angle took a half second on a low spec computer at the time.

It's tank controls. It doesn't matter how fair it is. It plays like ass and I'm not going to play something unenjoyable so that you feel better jerking it off. There's a reason there's not a single game out in the last 10 years that involves tank controls without a tank be involved and there's also a reason Gothic games are only liked by a small minority. The exploration may be great but everything else is ass.
