What are your favorite retro games that nobody talks about?

I like this game; co-op is great and it's basically a spiritual sequel to the Zombies Ate My Neighbors series blown up to a whole adventure world. The setting is really fun too if you're into Peplum, though that final plot twist was a bit too goofy.

People dismissed 2D games back then so it's often overlooked, but it was remarkable in terms of design in a number of ways: how death was handled, the whole seamless game world without screen transitions, etc

i prefer playing the REAL super mario brother 2, you probably haven't heard about it

Little Big Adventure.
Bad Mojo.
Discworld.

These felt like massive games when they came out.

Also, Brain Dead 13. No one gave a shit about this one.

Not to mention how comfy it is, stuff like npc's doing npc things, objects like houses and boats and graves all well drawn adding to comfiness and believability of the world.
Not to mention that is is a fairly good looking game, enemies sprites and background as well.

Nah, they play basically the same and the level design is identical but yeah, they do look like shit. Specially the cutscene "animations"

I know plenty of people played it. I know it makes it onto RPG suggestion lists sometimes. But I never ever see people actually having a discussion about this game, which is doubly strange not only because it's so good, but because there is a lot to discuss, there are tons of secrets / ways to break the game / items / character customization autism, etc.

>> No.5176631

>>5176629
Part of the reason it doesn't get talked about a lot is because people see it recommended and think "Well I'll just play the newer ones, they must be better"
and when they see how mediocre they are they lose interest

>> No.5176951

>>5176540
Not much to discuss really. The game is fun until you get past Sparta, then it turns into a grindy slog through pointless mazes. Go to Minos, fight boss, go back to Minos to pick up NEEDED weapon it wouldn't let you get to the last journey around. Spend ages finding the one path you need to the next area. Grind for weeks for gold for gyros. Die to the Minotaur anyways because he trapped you between two walls. Die by falling off the world while fighting Medusa. Die by getting turned into a pig and touching water.

I've played through the game and know the two major hidden secrets. It's a solid 5/10 with a friend, and 4/10 solo.
