Yes, you can play Shenmue I on regular 80 minute CD's without losing any content. Just make sure you download a good quality rip. There's at least one that seems fine until you get to a specific cutscene on Disc 3 and are greeted with absolute silence instead of music.

Shenmue II, unfortunately, is a much more challenging beast when it comes to burning. You *can* play it on 80 minute CD's, but you'll have to either lose a lot of audio or lose a ton of sound quality on speech files across the board. You can go through the trouble of tracking down usable 99 minute CD's like I did, but that's not worth it in my opinion. For Shenmue II, just buy a real copy if you want to play it on the Dreamcast and can deal with not having English voices.
