Don't know about 10/10, but Shadow Dancer and Mega Man 4 were exceptionally well-designed games. If something on that level came out today with some modern bells and whistles, it'd blow most recent games out of the water--not for retro fans but for anyone interested in games.

I guess the last game I would call "retro" and rate 10/10 was The Operative: No One Lives Forever. Yeah, I know it was released in 2000, but you could easily play it on much older hardware.

Been on a fucking lovely SNES kick lately. I was born in 1988 and by the time I was old enough to appreciate the SNES, my brother sold it and we got N64, so I had very little exposure to it and beat no games for it. So coming back now and playing it, it's both nostalgic AND fresh since I'm beating/experiencing these games for the first time:

-Mega Man X
-Donkey Kong Country 2
-Super Mario RPG
-Yoshi's Island
-not SNES, but Streets of Rage 2 for sure. 1cc'd it on Normal and now trying for a Hard 1cc.

I'm currently playing Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. It's honestly a very worthy successor to SMRPG, but so far I'd only give it 8.5/10. Great game though. Surprised I don't see it discussed here as much. The action commands are a great way to switch up the usual RPG fights.

Probably Alien Soldier, that was 2 years ago. That game had pretty much everything going for it. Nuanced gameplay, nice soundtrack, moderately challenging, spectacular graphics, no bullshit. Truly kino. Hard to find new 10/10s after all these years

I never got into Castlevania, but I really think that SoTN was an outstanding game. Ogre Battle 64 was also amazing. 10/10? No, I don't think a 10/10 exists or it would be the only game ever needed, but these games are top tier, and should be rated as some of the best of the generation....however my opinion is unique to me, and others may disagree.

I am a skinny guy as well. Go over to /ck/. I tried for years to gain weight, and if I don't power eat, I don't gain. I work construction, so I burn calories all day every day. I have 1000 between my breakfast sandwich and pecan twirls every morning...before I even start, and from there I eat a light snack at break of a small doughnut and a large salad. For lunch I usually have a PBJ sandwich and whatever leftovers from dinner the night before. it may be a few chicken breasts, porkchops or w/e. Dinner is usually a buffet where I eat as much as I can. At one point I was also drinking a case of beer a day in addition to my eating habits, and I may have gained 10 pounds. Some people are just that way anon. Make sure if you eat like that you are at least working your body. I essentially do 5-7 hours of cardio a day, so I burn calories. I may not be the biggest, but I can do physical activities longer and under conditions most people consider horrible for lengths of time that would sometimes kill people. 7 hours on a black rubber roof in the summer? No big deal...outdoors in the winter, cool.

i was just kidding about the ff7 part. dk 94 is a fucking phenomenal game. What i was trying to say is, in my adult life i havent played a game that i would consider 10/10 (closest thing being dk 94 that ive played recently), and that the last game i did think was 10/10 was when i was an edgy teenager and mgs 3 was that game, and that is not what i consider now to be a 10/10 game... im still searching!

Can confirm. I am not sporting some sort of monster, but from what I read about averages, I am above and beyond. I have been married for 15 years. Same woman. Kids, the house, and a dog. Its all a good time.

No they aren't, some people just have a low appetite and thus find it hard to exceed the daily requirements (and regularly exceeding is required in order to GAIN weight).

I'm not fat, but I have a large appetite since I enjoy the activity of eating. I could easily wolf down 10 000kcal in one day if I didn't limit myself, snacking does that (one bag of chips is ~1500 kcal). Every person I've met or read about that are skinny (without wanting to be) and say that they just CAN'T gain weight simply just eats too little, since they have a low appetite or just don't enjoy eating.
