Anyone of you got an idea whether it is actually possible to get analog audio out of the classic mini NES?

I want to build a portable solution of it.

Nope, i dont want to try the raspberry pi zero as it has a very small input lag, but it is there. :/

Don't think they actually wired the analog audio trace anywhere.
And this thing is just a linux computer with an emulator anyway.

I will check the chips for their datasheets.

How does it come that it has no input lag whereas any emulator that i tried has?

The problem isn't the SoC it's that there is no trace for analog audio on the board itself.

Are you implying the NES Classic doesn't have input lag? Because you'd be dead wrong.

Analog audio is a meme. You'll just be putting digital audio over analog and it doesn't improve anything.

Because it's a purpose-built system. It isn't running on top of (and alongside) lots of other software, so it doesn't have to deal with the layers of abstraction that other emulators do. That's why it has less lag than most software emulators.

It does.

HDMI - S Video - Break out cable - RCA Audio

As mentioned, I highly doubt there is any way to get true analog audio out. You’re just going to be passing a digital signal across analog cables

how did you measure input lag?
also did you use the same display/controller combination?

Try playing Mr. Gimmick on the classic an then tell me it has no input lag. Especially level 2 where you cross the waterfall and the logs fall. This is my go to lag test. Hint: It has enough lag to make a difference.

Classics have lag so using lag as an argument against a rpi is just an ill informed opinion.

To be fair, if I remember right Gimmick uses the retroarch core instead of built in ones, but the point is, you can't play all nes games lag free. There is some lag on the other games, but it's pretty low. Gimmick is one where you can always tell if lag is present because it is very precise and if you're used to the game on real hardware you can spot the difference.

Almost certainly. How much work that would be depends on many things.

>>5129026
Then connect directly to analog out pins. Might not be easy but not impossible.

Analog audio is what your ears hear dingus

Damn you're dumb. It's a standard part with an arm core.

get a load of this guy, not even realizing for a moment that the mini nes is running some incredibly crappy middleware produced by a french middleware company. it's the worst nes emulator i've ever seen. it makes the old nesticle pc program look fucking awesome.

Higher than an NES on a CRT?

All games have input lag, it just depends on how much in ideal circumstances.
