Frankly I don't give a single shit what other people consider retro, or what 8ch's /vr/ classifies as retro. /vr/ is and should always have a '99 cutoff date. Going any newer than we are now will attract undesirables who think Halo and CoD were the first FPS games. I was very skeptical of DC becoming officially allowed for that same reason, even if it worked out and everything stabilized after its whitelisting.

I do agree that broadening the demographic is going to get people who are fuckwits though, I'm just unconvinced the cost outweighs the benefits of broadening discussion to things that are, by definition, now old as fuck.
