Someone has actually some idea on this matter? The last thread someone convinced me to not buy an RS97, and get a PSP instead. And it fucking sucks at SNES and megadrive, mame isn't even bootable...

So, anyone has any ACTUAL and FACTUAL idea?

I have a small collection of them. Megadrive runs at fullspeed even on the ancient GP32, and SNES at full speed on every system afterwards. The most recent one I picked up is a JXD S5800, which is Android based. It plays everything perfectly up to 4th gen, and a few N64 games are playable with tweaks. I can't discern any input lag but I don't play fighting games.

I currently use my phone with a controller as my primary on-the-go emulator system. It's excessively powerful and the screen is brilliant. But if I were to buy a new system, it would be the GPD XD, every review I've read has been great, and I'm already familiar with the Android emulation scene, which is also great.

I have the GPD XD going on, oh, almost 2 years now. It's an android-based system with plenty of emulators available via app store. Mine has 32gb storage built in, and I added a 200gb flashcard to handle isos. Overall, the GPD XD works great with no issues stock out of the box and is one of the best "retro" purchases I've ever made.

There is an updated model called the GPD XD+ as well, but I have no experience with that one.

GP32, GP2X, WIZ, CANOO pretty much all gamepark consoles were created to be emulator machines. they are a little pricey as they are collectors items, but i love all the ports and homebrew that came out for the GP32/GP2X. they have some cool shit, but the emulators for the gp32 are only good up to 4th gen, then things get iffy. the gp2x and above have much better emulation capabilities, but each sequential console got less ports and hombrew, which fucking sucked. ginge works on the wiz and canoo i think, so you can at least play the gp2x stuff, but you have to own a gp32 to play any of the games that came out for it. you are not missing much unless you owned one as a kid (like me), but dyehard with infinite stairs is a fucking amazing little arcade game.

Then you had a small budget and your options were limited. PSP is the cheap option for handheld emulation but it doesn't do SNES as good as it should and outside of very old arcade games, a few Cave games, CPS1-2 and NEOGEO, it doesn't do arcade games. It shouldn't have any problems with Mega Drive. PSP is a bad choice for someone who wants perfect SNES emulation and full FBA-MAME support.
