How's your spooky fall gaming going? So far I've completed SotN, Silent Hill, Bloodlines, and RE2. Moving onto Decap Attack next.

Great, although none of the games I've played quite qualify as retro. Silent Hill is a primo October choice though, especially under a blanket on a good rainy evening.

>> No.5105032

It's spring here, so I'm playing some spring games like Rayman and Yoshi's Island.

It was my first time thru. Fantastic game.

I started my fall gaming late August/early September while i was stuck home sick so I had a major head start. Usually I'm lucky if I can even game an hour a night.

I've only played through silent hill. I started REmake and couldn't really get into it so I switched to Doom. I'm nearly through Doom and I'll probably just jump to silent hill 2.

That's not really that much. I have a 40-60 hour a week manual labour job and a girlfriend, I still complete at least a couple games a month. If you actually like a hobby, you find time for it.

You don't need to find a game scary to enjoy horror themes.

Maybe the elements in the game remind them of Halloween? My favorite "Halloween" game is Nitemare 3D. Not because it's 'adult scary', but because it has Vampires, Witches, Zombies, Bats, Skeletons, Frankenstein monsters, etc. as enemies and takes place in a haunted house. That might not say Halloween to you and several others, but it defines Halloween to me.

Been trying to do a marathon of Castlevania games, since previously, I've never beaten a single one. I've gotten through Castlevania the Adventure, Castlevania 1, Super Castlevania IV, and just about to beat the SNES version of Dracula X. As much as I like the soundtrack and visuals, I think the actual Rondo of Blood is much better. I'm on the last stage at least, but Dracula's fight is a bit annoying since you have to fight him while jumping between pillars. It doesn't feel exceptionally hard, just a little cheap, and incredibly slow. I only want to fight him on my own terms, which usually means only one one side of the whole stage, so I have to wait for his slow ass to materialize on a part of the level I feel I can hit him safely. I miss being able to hit Dracula's head multiple times if you're fast enough, but it just doesn't seem like you get the chance this time around.

I bought illbleed for around $20 new back when the DC was discontinued. I really tried to like it but the controls were horrendous. Your love SH. Not that I'm in any way an expert but it's by far the best /vr horror game that I have played.

Not him but I absolutely love Halloween as an adult. Pumpkin beer, seeing my kid trick or treating, costume parties, girls in slutty outfits, etc etc. It's a great holiday that your never too old to enjoy. Too many stick in mud anons in here imo.

Doesn't matter, because it includes original japanese V.A. with english subs.
Did they say if the SOTN they're going to release on PS4 is the PSP version or just the PS1 version that's already on PSN?
Because PSP got more content.

>> No.5108485

>>5108478
No clue since I have no interest in buying it for PS4. Isn't the "extra content" just the content that was left out from the Sega Saturn version? Like you can play as Maria, and I think there's a couple of more boss fights?

>> No.5108490

>>5108485
PSP has playable Maria, but he plays different from the Saturn version.
The other stuff isn't the extra levels from Saturn, but 2 extra familiars that were taken out from the western release of SOTN on PS1.

>> No.5109963

I'm at Dracula in Super Castlevania IV. The game has a lot of cheap moments but the bosses are somewhat fair.

>> No.5111216

I'm playing SOTN for the first time. I've avoided looking at a guide thus far (although I did need a tip to figure out where to go at one point, fuck that moving statue in the clock room, never would've figured that out), and I've beaten Richter at the top of the castle and seen the credits roll. Isn't this only half the game though? How do I continue? Loading my save file just puts me back at my save before the fight.

>> No.5111219

>>5111216
Yeah, that's the bad ending, you don't have to kill him.
