Why does everyone hate Contra Force?
It is an official Contra, it got great graphics, great music, great game-play, and a story.

Mostly everyone is ignoring it, or just don't know about it.

Here is a short segment of a fight with a last boss we played. For anyone who never played it/seen it.

I personally love this Contra as much as any other

The game itself is fine. Emulating it is the best way to go. There are just a couple problems surrounding it.

1. Getting a cart is stupid expensive, which is why I mentioned emulating it.

2. The game slows to a crawl when doing two player co-op.

Other than that, it is a pretty unique game that is worth playing. If it was released anywhere else besides the U.S., it might have been more popular.

it was included on my 10$ multicart

Obviously I meant buying an "official" cart, which pretty much has no use other than to collectors and people who refuse to emulate. It is a good game, but the timing of its release basically doomed it to obscurity (it was released AFTER Contra III for the SNES, on the dying NES in '92).

Contra Force was originally called "Ark Hound" while in development towards the end of the NES's lifecycle. Someone in management at Konami (?) was able to get the Contra logo slapped on the cartridge and start menu. It is a Contra game by name alone and for all intents and purposes, not a Contra game at all.

Actually, even though it started out as a separate game, it became an official Contra game. It was referenced in both Contra III which preceded it (Neocity was the town that got destroyed, and was the name of the town in Contra Force), but also Contra 4. A track from Force was also used in Contra ReBirth.

Yep, just wanted to say that. At the end, it's a an official Contra, and thought it's different in comparison with other Contras, its not a bad one.

SLOWDOWN

If there was a NES emulator that could eliminate slowdown it'd be perfect.

Why was what was likely to be the Japanese box art for Arc Hound so much classier than the US art?

>Why does everyone hate Contra Force?
Because it was developed as an entirely different game and they slapped the "contra" name on it right at the end.
In terms of gameplay it's incredibly slow and controls like shit.

A bunch of NES emus have an overclock feature but i've never tested it as games tend to crash when you overclock the nes cpu.

Why has Hard Corps never received a port anywhere?
