Ability to sell/discard the fucking Tolens/Whale Cakes

Make Dragon transforms last until the end of the battle like in BOF1 instead of being single attacks doing set damage based on the percent of your AP you had when you used the transform.

Make the Township citizens occupy houses in the order you approach them rather than being assigned a certain house and can't join if the house they're assigned is taken.

Add the Rang weapons from BoF1

How much can you do? Any chance of being able to scrap the stupid "can't fly because demons" bullshit? Or at least have Township be the same speed as the great bird. I'd also like Shaman fusions to not dissolve randomly.

Lastly: E N C O U N T E R R A T E S

I'd say so. It feels really ahead of its time. I played it and didn't have much to say about it before the retranslation patch, but revisiting it years later with said retranslation patch, I was really blown away. It's up there with FFVI, CT and ToP on the SNES for me.

The only cons to me are the terrible encounter rate and the overlong prologue and depending on how much you can tolerate the retranslation sucking Woolsey's dick, but IMO the only part where it becomes excessive is during the SimaFort arc.

Anyone care to rank the 4 main BoF games? Is 2 considered the best here?

>> No.5089259

>>5089253
There's no consensus on which one is the best starting with 2, just play them all.

breath of fire is such a weird series. BOF 1 and 2 have a unique feel to them. Different than other snes games. They're worth playing even if they feel antiquated or can be archaic in some of its endgame systems.

To me it's 4 >= 2 > 1 > 3. It's not that I don't like BoF3, and it definitely has its pros, but it's just so slow and has so many downright boring parts. It's a real chore to play whereas BoF1 might be a basic, easy RPG with confusing mechanics but it has a lot of fun, high concept episodic quests as you go from town to town to keep things interesting.

Just play them all. You don't have to, but if you go from 1 to 4 you'll notice the callbacks and references.
