But it's a 32-bit system and has graphics on par with SNES, just in black and red.

I'd argue it was superior, in many ways.

Except in games lol

>> No.5078256

it's not even a portable virtual boy

>> No.5078258

It was technically portable.

Well you probably shouldn't, not seriously.

>> No.5078263

>>5078261
You don't think it could have produced technically superior/larger games?

It’s redder? How about that? But no. It’s decidedly inferior. No matter what the system CPU is. I’ve never heard an intelligent argument as to why anyone would want to buy one of these things.

>>5078265
I want to buy one because I've never tried it and want to.

I own one for a few game sand I can say with certainty the effects cannot be replicated. You have to see it to understand how unique it looks.

The virtual boy was on display at every software store and blockbuster video when it came out. So everyone had a chance to see it’s amazing 3D graphics...

And almost everyone passed on it. The most common thing I heard was people pulling their head away from it and saying “oh god, my eyes!”.

>> No.5078362

It's a portable, monochrome PC-FX.

>> No.5078375

The major failure of this system was that it was just not fun. When it came out there were free demonstration tables at every toy'r'us where you could just walk up and play it. As an actual kid I remember playing it and not being impressed at all and didn't ask my parents for one.

I think another problem was the fact that was no social aspect to it. Your friends couldn't watch you play, and you couldn't watch them.

You couldn't play with them because they never released the hardware to do so.

That is so totally incorrect it’s amazing. But I love you for bringing up the PC-FX!

>> No.5078395

>>5078391
But the Virtual Boy uses the same CPU as the PC-FX.
