Ausfag here, looking at importing pic related from Japan since I don't want to have to mod one from Australia to play vidya at 60hz and Jap consoles tend to be cheaper.
I managed to get a power supply for my Super Famicom that converts the voltage without the need for a seperate step-down converter which does the job great, does anyone know if something similar exists for the Saturn? Or will I need to get a step-down converter?
If so, what kind of converter does /vr/ reccomend?

Saturn has an internal power supply, so you need to use a stepdown. Can't just use an aussie power supply like with other consoles.

>>5075680
Saturn shit from japan is still fairly cheap regardless. Especially if OP is just buying the hardware and decides to use something like a modchip or pseudosaturn to just play burned CDs and avoid bothering with buying games.

Stop buying from Japan.

Why not? Not OP, but a while back I bought a super famicom and games imported from japan because they were all significantly cheaper than buying from the US, even factoring in shipping. Not sure how things are now though. They might've wised up and realized what filthy gaijin were doing.

Why would you want to import a US Saturn from Japan? Is it the criminal or abo in your genes that makes you retarded?
Saturns take AC so your only option is to use a stepdown converter. You could replace the PSU like I do. If you weren't a crminal abo from the west island.

Who said anything about a US Saturn? Or is this some autism about the picture not being a Japanese console?

He said Jap Saturn, dumb bogan. Also nobody wants to unironically use a PALshit console.

No one "said" anything. OP posted a pic of a US Saturn.

Saturn 60hz mod takes literally seconds, it's just bridging two pads inside the MPEG expansion bay next to the memory backup battery. Beats fannying around with chink stepdown converters.

There is a guy making a replacement PSU, the same guy who made the DreamPSU. I ordered one last May and it hasn't arrived yet. Never back Kickstarter scams

The notoriously unreliable guy behind DCemu who only makes them when he feels like it, has a massive backlog of preorders, and then runs away with the money like the lazy polak he is?

nice, how much do they cost? I'd love to play rips that don't need to be chopped up to fit on a normal CD. Plus I got an old DC with a busted laser that would be perfectly suited.

Like 65 Euro on Aliexpress. Between the faster load times, having all your games on an sd card, the quiter console and not having to fuck around with butchered rips on cds its worth it in my opinion.

Thanks, I just found it. Yeah, 76 bucks. Doesn't the original guy charge like 200 + tip + months of waiting for the thing?
Definitely going to consider getting one of these. Have you experienced any troubles that may be due to chinkshit production?

>>5077378
Not yet. I don't have a non Chink one to compare it to but it feels well made. After a bit of research these things are made of pretty generic parts and the only problem is they can't be updated. They already play every game so it doesn't really matter.
