You know you could probably murder Bart and fit him into that mailbox if you really wanted to. Also why are his shorts purple?

I always fucking loved this game. I found the stiff controls to be more challenging than frustrating. Beat this game several times.

I beat vs The World, but never this one. That fucking museum. That fucking amusement park prior to it.

LOL. I remember sinking into the quicksand so many times and swearing at the screen. Actually it was frustrating, but I liked it anyway. I remember I became obsessed with sketching/doodling Bart Simpson cuz of this game.

An ambitious game that really didn’t need to have limited lives, particularly for the kids that almost always struggled with the game

Same here. I even got the pie ending in World. But in Mutants, I would always loose steam in the mall. I remember my sister getting to the museum once, but then she got stuck at the dinosaur. How the fuck are you supposed to know that there are invisible platforms? We even thought that was the stage boss, but nope. It keeps going afterwards. Such a bullshit game.

Played it on a C64 and remember pretty much hating it. As alway only the music was good.

I got it with a compilation of other games (Terminator 2 and WWF Wrestemania). None of the other games were good either, only Terminator was decent.

This game is proof you shouldn't listen to ecelebs. Sure it's fucking tough but it's damn good if you actually attempt to play it well. This is one of those games you loved as a kid back when you got one game a year. It gave you so much playtime and value. Ecelebs shit on it because it's tough, sorry sweetie, git gud like literal grade schoolers who beat it back then did.

It's only really the first level that's ambitious. Most of the rest of the levels are fairly standard platforming fare.

This was actually one of my most playerd games back then. It's true that the first level is the best part though, I remember replaying it over and over, figuring out what to do.
I can't say it's a genuinely good game because the controls and hit detection are rubbish, it's why it's so frustrating on later levels where you have to make tight platforming jumps, but the collision is all over the place.
I could never beat VS Space Mutants though, but me and some friends beat Vs The World together.
Have a lot of nostalgia for both.

As a kid I was stumped at the following parts, but through sheer perseverance and adaptation of its wacky rules, I eventually overcame them:

- When you had to use the phone booth to prank call Moe. It was the only phone booth in the level so something had to be done. Lol'd at Isabelle Ringing.

- Seeing the purple kid exit the cineplex seemingly at random, though the billboard reads 2:00PM - 4:00PM

- Jumping into Krusty's mouth in the Amusement park level, also the door logic minigame

- Knowing how to beat that stupid T-Rex at the Museum level. Can be a bitch if you jump from the wrong angle, you fall right off and lose a life.

- Looking for all the nuclear rods in the Power Plant level, only to realize that one was missing. Then I found out Maggie's pacifier is the last component.

As for the pants, could've been worse. Blue shirt Bart or sumthin

This game is ass, the jank ass hit boxes and god awful controls ruin an already badly designed platformer. The sound is straight garbage too. The second level can go suck a duck that cement part is so frustrating. The arcade game is the only good early Simpson’s game.
