Owning a Nintendo Wii (not U) with SMRPG on Virtual Console. Completed it 99%, 1 item missing = "Super Suit"

I hate that 100 Super Jump crap, and anons told me that the VC (as with most Emulators) has input lag, thus making the ridiculous task of 100 frame perfect jumps more difficult. That's when I snapped and decided to put out a reward. 4Chan users are knwon to have mastered incredible feats, and YT tutorials can go suck a nut because input lag and shit.

**30 bucks to anyone who can reliably tell/ organize me a cheating device or method to AR the crap out of it or 50€ for european users (preferably german) who can accomplish that task for me, by fair means or fowl. No joke. Reply if you think you have what it takes. See requirements below**

Requirements: Ultra skillz/No disassembly of my system/Reliable source

If anyone else thinks that retarded crap about 100 super jumps is unnecessarily hard and feels the same, I'd love to hear other rambles and rants.

VC on Wii u has the input lag, normal Wii there is none

Copy save to SD Card, then convert to a format usable on emulators with cheats.

Valuable suggestion, though I'm not an expert. Can you explain it to me in a more detailed manner? How culd I apply it on the VC?

>>5052301
The amount of super jumps you're able to do is limited by mario's magic power and the enemy's magic defense. You need to make it as high as it can possibly be and boost him against a level 1 paratroopa in the very first area of the game.

The game after that is a slow timing puzzle that switches the interval of the window at certain breakpoints requiring you to basically count along and use a piece of paper to mark the transitions or something.

only like 4 transitions though and the last bit of it is really easy

>>5052690
Thanks Anon, but I know perfectly well how to do it in theory. The problem here is the laggy input plus my sheer incompetence. My highest is 62 and no matter what I do it won't get higher.

Made a second one, yes. Specified the reward part and not knowing how to delete the first one (if at all).

>> No.5052752

Even on the original SNES version I was never able to do more than like 18 jumps. I truly don't know how anyone does it.

I'm gonna call bullshit on that. I remember watching a speedrun where the guy got 100 jumps on Jonathan Jones.

Is your Wii hooked up to an LCD by chance? Wii VC has negligible input lag. This could be caused by your TV's upscaling process if you aren't using a CRT.

Glad you specify. As you (all) can see, I'm playing this on the Wii VC using a CRT TV, albeit the PAL version of the Wii. It says it emulates the 480p but I doubt it does it properly.

>> No.5053136

Think I saw that one too. Many players swear they can perform it on Jonathan Jones because his sprite doesn't move or something. If only I didn't suck...

nice to see game being played properly
the wii is very strange, its a 7th gen console with 240p output, specifically for playing older games on CRT
not even the gamecube outputs 240p
nothing from 6th gen does
the phat ps2 has ps1 hardware built in, which outputs 240p like the original ps1,
but the ps2 itself will not do 240p

"Determined" to input a cheat code or have it done by someone else? What am I missing here?

>> No.5053185

What you're missing: Determined to accomplish this by fair means or foul. Tried it the fair way, now shooting for the alternative.

>> No.5053195

>>5053185
But you won't be accomplishing it, this is the equivalent of purchasing someone's bowling trophy.

>> No.5053198

>>5053195

Hence the term "foul". I don't care how to acquire that trophy. I want to own it, especially if the ball has a left-hand twist aka the input lag. Anything else?

>> No.5053219

Why are you playing the Virtual Console version? The Wii is so easy to hack.

Stop being a retard and install the Homebrew Channel and use Snes9x. Then you can use savestates between jumps.

You could also hack your wii and use Ocarina/Gecko OS to load cheats for your game

http://geckocodes.org/?c=JCBE

>> No.5053269

>>5053259
i dont recall Wii VC having save states out of the box.

So either OP you can try the "Max/Unlimited Special Moves" cheat from the geckocodes repo and see if that'll let you do unlimited super jumps, otherwise you're fucked and you should play your game on a less shit platform.

Not gonna lie, this is incredibly helpful. I'm a stupid noob when it comes to hacking evidently, so I'll try and see how far I get. The codes I see there from the other Anon )the geckocodes), can they legitimately work on my PAL system?

Alright, true to my word I'll try and hack it. If all of this succeeds, you have won the bounty together with the anon who proposed the geckocodes - thanks a lot, you've given me some hope! May I come back to you if I'm too dumb to handle it?

>> No.5053405

>>5053260

You and the other Anon may have won the bounty (a split). I'll try to hack it so I can use these codes, and if I succeed, I'll get back to you. Fingers crossed, I've never hacked anything before. Thanks a lot for your link!

After five straight hours of trying, I have so far installed that homebrew channel via Flashhax, since it's apparently a method to do it without SD cards or game exploits.

This is as far as I get, since I'm a hacking noob and for the love of butter can't understand how to input those geckocodes or even get to an option to put them in and apply them.

At this point I'll either give up and accept the inevitable or I have to look out for hacking guidance, which should be recommended since I don't wanna screw up my Wii.

In any case, should any of you have ideas left or be patient enough to explain it to me, I'll be happy to listen. The bounty is still up, and some Anons have been helpful. Otherwise this thread is closed, I'll admit defeat and thank you guys for your input!
