I actually added freedoom iwad and even GZDoom into archive for Doom Remake 4, and even created launchers so plebs that downloading it don't need even to think how to launch this shit. Just download and click on a .bat file. I want this compilation to be more popular than Brutal Doom on moddb. Brutal Doom is like 700 downloads per day, mine is like 50-70.

Frankly, you're chasing the wrong crowd. Your mod package is far too large to be worth downloading out of casual interest and takes up far too much space to just download and forget about, like most wads. You don't offer anything worth downloading, besides pretty graffix, but again, that's subjective. I think they're ugly as fucking shit. Instead of wasting your time and effort making something that just replaces shit, try making something new. Tackle the unwieldy beast that is ZScript, and make something truly more interesting than just taking a bunch of people's content and mashing it together like you're Doomguy2000.

I don't know anything about ZScript yet. I only got into Doom in the end of spring of this year. Firstly I made a compilation that gives you ability to play with bots on deathmatch maps which I shared on russian forum 2ch, then I started adding many graphic mods together, however they were incompatible between each other, so I learned more about Doom modding when I tried to fix them. Then I learned how to use decorate, modeldef, gldefs etc work, downloaded Misfit Model 3D program and my modding began.

I never actually been a fan of Doom. However I often played deathmatch/duels in ZDaemon back in 2005 when I had on old PC (any other multiplayer games didn't work on it), then in 2006 I got a new PC and stopped playing old games. So now I'm back into Doom.

He's really been at it since May or June, and first he really was know as this "dude that didn't get appeal of singleplayer and only played deathmatches with bots", but then he quickly started making the monstrosity that you all know and hate.
Actually, it's pretty much a fact, that Doom threads are still alive and ongoing on 2ch only because of Vasyan (and unrelated NuDoom vs OldDoom discussions), there were other Doom threads on 2ch in the past, but they usually died out only after two or three consecutive threads.

There are obviously two theories about Vasyan:
The first, the boring one is that he's just a very succesful baiting troll.
The second, is that he may be actually autistic, unable to understand the appeal of original Doom to other people, and genuinely trying to reshape Doom into something that believes to be more modern. (And this of course doesn't exclude him still purposefully baiting with that). He also surprisingly (or not) hates Brutal Doom.
Strengthening the second theory is also the fact, that, well, he did do this pack, and he's really been at it since like June! He actually not only just compiled all the mods together, he also modified them! Pretty sure he also made new bumpmaps, did stuff with lighting, edited the HONTE maps to use that lighting... Etc.
Like seriously, he may be autistic, he may be a bit of a troll, but he isn't lazy and actually put a lot of work into refining this thing!
And for the record, while he never asked for permissions, but he at least credited the mods.

I won't say he created a cult on 2ch, because he didn't, but there are actually a couple of anons that really seem to be amused by his work and even offer suggestions.

Also, I'm pretty sure he's banned on Doomforum and Zdoom forum.

It's not finished, just some ideas that I'm trying to work into a story. What's stopping me is that I have a lot of ideas I think are cool as shit, like some comic-book super hero kind of stuff, but I can't decide if I want to go nuts, or stick to the source material. What I've got so far is that the "Freedoom Guy" is only known as "The Engineer," sort of like Gordon Freeman. He doesn't know shit about combat or anything, he's just there when things go wrong. He arrives at version 0.4's Map 01 on his way to work, only to find that everything has gone to shit, and all of the "Blanks," the name I gave the zombiemen, shotgunners, and chaingunners, who function as mindless security personnel, have all gone haywire, and the genetic experiments of American Genetics and Munitions have gone completely apeshit. I don't really have much to show, and I'm absolutely awful at writing action, which is why I wish I could draw or animate, but yeah, Freedoom's setting is fucking tits and I'd love to make a full story out of it if I could.

I don't know about you, but I'm having no trouble with performance regarding flashlights.
I'm using the Johnny Flashlight though. Maybe it just works better.

Honestly, it's not even that, it's just that GZDoom's object handling isn't suited for huge amounts of stuff, you inevitably reach bottlenecks even if you have some kind of Sexual Tyrannosaurus computer.
It handles Plutonia and Alien Vendetta just fine, but look at something like Deus Vult II (a particularly beautiful .wad to look at), there's thousands of monsters, and there are a LOT of linedefs making up the gorgeous detail in the levels.

We've had discussions like these on /3/ many times. There is no free software that is good enough to make monsters and there probably will never be. On the other hand there is TrenchBroom to make maps. Also the monters and how they interact is a big chunk of a game and making new monster, even if you go through all the trouble of somehow making them, is likely to break the successful fomula of the game itself, so people don't bother and for a good reason.
You need new monsters, you get a different game. There are exceptions, but that's about it.

I might get to that eventually, but it is a lot of very hard work wrangling multiple engines / versions into working as one.

One major issue of adding download support is that compatibility is essentially unknowable. I test all the WADs in PortaDOOM and work out what engines, versions and settings are required.

I'm hoping that I can solicit some help at some point to build a few required tools:
1. A test-suite of WADs to verify what each engine is capable of (e.g. UDMF, ACS, DECORATE, ZSCRIPT etc)
2. A program that can scan a WAD and find out what features it uses.

Until then, I'm sticking with a curated approach otherwise it doesn't provide anything that people can already do just downloading random WADs off of /idgames.

You won't do it, but I'm going to answer anyway.

- Figure out something that appeals to the lowest common denominator, something that a mass amount of people get very passionate about. Mostly positive passion, but negative passion can work in your favor. Like anime tits or video game violence.
- Make it a very, very long-term project. Something with a nebulously defined goal you can reach in the ill-defined future, but enough so that you can consistently work on and "improve" it. A project constantly in development will get more attention and buzz, with the idea that things might "improve" in the future, be it criticisms or suggestions. Once a project's done, it's peaked.
- Focus on flash. Make it shiny. Very shiny. Something that can be very easily be shown off in screenshots and short video clips. How something works doesn't matter as much as how something looks like it works. People love seeing aesthetic stuff.
- As a supplementary of above, make it low-tech. Make it so that it can run on Zandronum as well as GZDoom. More source ports mean more people playing it. Multiplayer servers mean more people playing it. Even just casually downloading and checking it out means more people playing it.
- Engage with the public constantly. Get people thinking you care about them, and they'll come back to you. Tell them to fuck off, and they'll start watching you out of spite. You have to work a balance, get people too angry and they're likely to drop off. Carefully maintain controversies--something dangerous enough to start heated discussions, but not damning enough to condemn you utterly.
- Shill, shill, shill. Get an angle that your mod does kind of unique. Promote it as the best of that. Get journalists to write about it. Submit tips to websites about your stuff. Get youtubers to make videos about it. Curry relationships, get them to promote your stuff.
- Repeat ad infinitum. Patreon optional.

Yeah, it's one of those little quirks you could abuse as a mapmaker.

Map slot 30 has a special where monsters can telefrag the player, as well as other monsters. Partially this is so if a monster is just standing where the baphomet spawns a new one, the old one will be killed and out of the way, instead of turning into an immobile treadmill monstrosity, and partially so the baphomet can potentially kill the player.
I think TNT Revilution is the first time I've ever seen someone use that for a gimmick like that, I thought it was pretty nifty, and pretty funny.

Seriously, it's not hard to do. There's no unique blender-based difficulty to making a low poly model, rigging and animating it.

If you've tried to do this yourself, gotten frustrated, and given up, I understand. But there are tutorials and they will help you. Blender isn't even the only option - although it's certainly what I'd suggest these days.

If you want to import new models into Quake, you can use this tool:
It converts between mdl, md2 and md3. You can download Sauerbraten which comes with a lot of models and then all it's left is to recontruct the animations frames in QuakeC. It's not easy but it's doable. There are more models here:
But they are 3 pieces md3, you'll have to invent some thing in QuakeC to keep the pieces toghether.

Code Patch would be mandatory, it patches up all the memory holes and shit, completely eliminating Morrowind's propensity for just crashing for no good reason at times. Also has a couple of nice quality of life options.

Thing though is that over time, a bunch of old cool mods people have made, have disappeared, just poofed off the web, due to link rot, or file hosting services dying.
I remember looking around a few years back, and a lot of house mods and armor mods were gone, and Nexus didn't have any copies/mirrors.

Rangers are great at shooting Knights so use that to your advantage.

Death Knights and Knights are not baitable like Shamblers, Fiends, and Ogres. Ogres are "baitable" but I put that in quotes because the range of their chainsaw makes it difficult to escape them, unless you can side-step and fall off a platform, like in Gloom Keep or something.

Halls Of The Damned may not have a lot of height variation but it's a very good semi-maze that's dark and spooky, and has lots of good and devious traps, it's perfect for an E2 map.
I don't know why you call it empty, because there's certainly stuff in the labyrinth section, there's even more monsters and items waiting for you on the way back, once you've grabbed the key.
