Uhh, does Last Rites count? Its a more darker style.

Also, what the fuck some triple nigger either took the full OST off, or got their channel shutdown. I ripped it last year and its almost 1h46m long.

Damar could go either way. He pines for the old days of Cardassian glory, a simpler time, but that could just as easily be an anology for /v/ type muh sjw shit. If I had to pick one, I'd say retro. He wants to go back to his family.

DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME CS (America).
Despite the swearing in HIGHS OFF U (Scorccio XY Mix)'s lyrics, the song was not censored and the game was still able to get an E ESRB rating.

Little Big Planet 2
The lyrics to Ferry Corsten's Rock Your Body, Rock go "I'm on a mission, let it take you back and forth, another jam that's gonna make you scream for more, from New York, London to Amsterdam, let's f***, I wanna rock your body rock."

There are dozens of subgenres of punk and metal, but to the overwhelming majority of people those those catch-all terms are good enough. The word techno predates all the shitty subgenres you faggots have come up with and it will outlive them too.

That's a fair point. OP here. Not sure about the best terms to describe the aesthetic, which is primarily rooted in a specific era of graphic, sound, and video game design. Trying to clarify it by gathering more examples. I feel like the things that distinguish it from futuristic designs of earlier or later years is hard to express verbally, since the differences are primarily visual or aural. I think the development of different music genres like trance and techno helped shape different sci-fi atmospheres in fiction at the time.

cont. I think an example of someone in the present day trying to return to this particular retro game aesthetic is Porter Robinson with his Virtual Self Project. Whether you like it or not (I for one do) what I don't think you can deny is that he's mining a particular late 90s atmosphere that a lot of people have ignored. I'm glad he's bringing these things back.
