For one, it seems he's implying the colors were the ending, and as we know they're just a bonus reward for beating the optional special levels. I just can't process how that knowledge puts you off from the game completely.

The first post is also worded very strangely, as if made by someone completely foreign to video games of that era, kinda like those moms that used to refer to every video game console as a "Nintendo", but seeing how he says his mother beat it, I'm guessing he's like 14yo or something.

This is true for sprites. You can reuse animations for 3D models with minimal fuss but this is much more difficult with 2D sprites.
