This thing is impressing me like all that Japanese homebrew that got cart releases. Love the detail and incidental animations, I feel like I'm playing a Sega CD game, and the music always fits the scene and feels very natural. If the point of choosing the NES port to translate was that it's more impressive then I'm glad to see it in action.

Big fan of menubased adventures like this - JESUS is another neat NES game in a similar mould, but not quite this impressive, and the cart size made for a shorter game.

(reposting it from /m/)
Finished this right now.
Enjoyed it though the story was quite predictable but worth the payoff at the end.
I loved the beautiful sprite work and the dynamic use of BGM.

Since it's a menu based adventure game, it gets really tedious at times as you have to go through same option twice or thrice in order to make progress. Perhaps this results in most weak section of the game where you also have to do point and click game style pixel hunting.

This game can be completed without any help of walkthrough, even the aforementioned pixel hunting portion which is fortunately short.
All you need to do is to keep exhausting all the options to see whether you can unlock more or it makes progress.
Otherwise, there is one on gamefaq.

I am still surprised that they put one fanservice scene in a NES game.

Special thanks to the fan translation team who after a decade of hard work released this game.

It's a pretty simple adventure game. Not much depth to the gameplay or dialogue trees. If you're going to play this game, play it for the presentation. Lots of Alien influence I didn't expect and the graphics are incredible. It looks like a 16-bit game at times. Very cinematic.

Finished it last night, worked fine on a Wii emu since it's too big for flash carts. The game is pretty much an 80s OVA in pseudo-adventure game format. There's actually a character called Catty that looks almost exactly like the Catty in the Gall Force OVAs...

Lots of jaw dropping scenery and spritework for the NES. Some backgrounds even have a little motion going on. Lots of nice attention to detail. It seriously blows many 16-bit games out of the water. The game hits a serious low point in the latter half when you are running around a building searching the same rooms over and over again. This is the only part of the game where you actually point and click to investigate. You tend to have to choose the same conversation options over and over again to get anywhere, not a big deal and expected in this kind of game, but I feel like it's a little overboard in this game. Also reminded me of Policenauts because almost every NPC is a hottie that the MC wants to bang.

The story is great by NES standards, but pretty average for what it is. The whole game is ~4 hours, everyone interested should play it imo.

It would suck so fucking much if we didn't all live to get to see the full libraries of these old consoles translated.

And the worst part is that the entire reason it's taking so long is because people would rather re-translated the SAME games OVER AND OVER AGAIN rather than translate untranslated games. Some RPGs in particular have like 3 or more translations, and that's not even uncommon.

This was voted the 64th favorite game on the Famicom by Famitsu readers in 2003.
