I did, I've beaten it with all treasures, still think it was too hard. It's the main thing keeping me from replaying it.

>> No.5008575

>>5008479
It gets easier and easier the more you beat it. It's all about getting to know the physics and the AI of the bosses.
After having beaten it for a couple of times the game honestly does feel pretty easy. At least I have a lot of other games that would give me more trouble than Gimmick.

Basically practice. Also make sure to look for hidden objects in each level because they give you points which give you lives. The section in world 1 where there's a lot of dropping bombs on the ceiling can give you a life if you use the floaty pink orb to destroy them.

I didn't even know there were hidden objects and found level 2's just by messing around.

Having never played Mr. Gimmick, these scores give me the impression that either the 8 is pulling a good review out his ass (unlikely) or that they're being honest, and the others stopped playing it a couple levels in and called it a review.

The only thing I could think was they had been playing 16 bit and were comparing an 8 bit game to 16 bit systems. Gimmick has at least 9/10 graphics for nes.

>It's a kiddy game.

EGM legit has bipolar.

The design philosophies are leagues apart. Kirby is passive, rudimentary, and irrelevant. Mr. Gimmick is deliberate, inventive, and dynamic. The difference is black and white.

Not only that, Shigeru Miyamoto and Masahiro Sakurai stated that the game was a masterpiece and influential to them. There is reasonable evidence to suggest that Kirby was inspired by the game in the first place, at least in appearance.

Anyone ever played it in Sunsoft's classic collection on PSX?
Playing the game on that really does suck fucking ass.
The emulation has quite a bit of input lag, rapes the Sunsoft 5B and the NES audio itself and they put A and B on fucking X and Circle.
That button angle makes it unnecessarily uncomfortable to play.
