How are you digging that SuperFX and SA-1 support chums?

>> No.5000726

it's very cool, too bad it's emulation

How IS it coming along? is the timing more accurate than the beta now?

It literally says who makes it on the cartridge.

zoom in buckaroo.

>> No.5001934

>>5001856
They all have the lights - when you buy from SAG you can pay extra to get light pipes in the cartridge shell so you can see them.

>> No.5001937

I dropped mine and the SD card reader broke off on the inside of it. I really need to see about sending it back to China to get repaired.

>>5001861
If you're okay with buying one from China you can get it for $100. It's open source unlike everdrive so anyone who wants to is free to manufacture it. I bought mine from junfangames on taobao who I consider reputable since he's the official Chinese seller for everdrives. Unlike some other Chinese units people complained about it has MSU-1 support. Just don't drop it like my dumb ass did.

>> No.5002039

>>5001937

I assume none of the chinese clones support the SuperFX and SA-1 stuff yet?

>> No.5002041

>>5002039
They're not "clones" because like I said, ikari released everything open source. They run the same exact firmware and can be updated just fine. It probably even works on the shitty ones without MSU-1.

exactly what games can i play here i cant on everdrive

>> No.5002082

>>5002064
AFAIK msu-1 enables 'enhanced' games, which means romhacks with better soundtracks (more instruments and quality) and even cutscenes

I don't know if there's actual 'original' games that need it

Compare the chips supported by the everdrive to those supported by sd2snes. All the games with chips are listed here.

>> No.5002091

Wait do I need to install the chip into my chink everdrive or is this chip 'emulated' through the firmware (IE unneeded)?

I'll risk bricking my flashcart for SMRPG and Masou Kishin

>> No.5002095

>>5002091
It's firmware based. I think some everdrives had an option to install a DSP chip? But sd2snes it's all emulated by the FPGA and any updates are firmware only.

He also didn't splurge the $1.89 for the TF to Short SD adapter (macbook style), ruining the A E S T H E T I C by having a shitty SD card sticking out of the top of his flashcarts. Seriously, they work for everything and look a hell of a lot nicer.

As for the question, I'm loving the support. I already had SMRPG, but it's pretty nice to play the kirby games and a few others. The hacks are quite fun too.

Is there any PCB with a header to solder a genuine SuperFX chip ? A kind of everdrive but with real superFX hardware and a firmware that enable it depending on the game.

>>5002113
That's pretty cool but I'll probably stick with the 8gb sandisk I got off ebay for $3 shipped for my Chinese sd2snes. I might try that for other flash carts in the future though. Especially ones where I will need larger storage.

>> No.5002127

>>5002120
No. If you want that you'll need to use a cart with a SuperFX in it and make a repro out of it to play whichever game you want.

Too dab, I believe that a regular (cheap) everdrive) with a header for SUperFX and a tunable crystal (one for SFX1 clock and the other for SFX2 speeds) will be a simple, yet very effective ultimate SNES cart

I have a Chinese clone that I bought a few years ago and it can run the latest firmware.

>> No.5003608

I bought a Genesis Everdrive back in January, been enjoying playing romhacks and translations on legitimate hardware. I went to check on how much it would cost to buy an SD2SNES and saw it was not only MUCH more expensive but also unavailable from StoneAgeGamer, so I waited.

After some car repairs I'm now unable to spare the cash to buy one, but did something happen? Why was the SD2SNES unavailable? Did something happen?

Not OP but I'm glad cheapfag tendencies didn't win out when I made my decision.

>> No.5003642

>>5003627
A Chinese SD2SNES doesn't cost any more than a Ukrainian made Super Everdrive with DSP so it was a no brainer for me. That month of waiting for it to come in the mail was pretty painful though.

>> No.5003668

>>5003608
i got mine from germany. stoneage is good if you want to wait for a sale. They might have cleared out stock with the new firmware update. Some people on the fence might have bought them. Lots of people here swear by the chink ones but a lot of people on 4chan are poor shitworlders too

>> No.5005482

I've got no idea about "firmware updates" when it comes to Everdrives, is that just something you download onto the SD drive?

There's no point buying a Super Everdrive period, it just doesn't measure up anymore whether you go chinese or official. I got an official one years back that was dead within a year and krikzz was completely useless, his 'warranty' is a load of ass.
