Has anyone played Kyūyaku Megami Tensei? It's a SNES remake of the first two Megami Tensei games that were originally on the NES.

I just wanted to know roughly how long they are? Are they shorter than Shin Megami Tensei 1 for SNES?

played the first one on this, a translated version I think, and thought it was very good for what it was

I played it. Finished both Megami Tensei 1 and 2. I honestly don't remember much in terms of length, but it was definitely a long game, especially 2. Playing a bit everyday, I think it took me like a month to beat both of em (then again I was in uni at the time so I didn't have enough time for games). Dunno how it compares to SMT1 for the SNES in terms of length. Very good game, Kyuuyaku is.

First game is short, second game is almost as long as SMT 1.

not sure, i'll have to play em. Never played a Tensei game.

I never finished the first game, but I thought the soundtrack was really good for its time.

Time to beat says 50 hours.

Would you guys recommend this over the NES version?

I started the first, but got really bored and stopped.

Unless you can read Japanese, this is the only way to play them in English.

The Famicom MT1 got translated, but KMT does appear to be the only translation of MT2.

KMT is easier to play, it has some nice features that are not in the NES version. The original Famicom version of MT2 has an extra soundchip, and many people prefer it to the KMT soundtrack.

So, unless you are a freak for the old music and can read Japanese, stick with KMT. It is good.
