Once you understand it's meant to be a "multi-mode" controller it's fine, the asymmetric grip when using the analog stick is dumb though. Everyone hated it in-era.

Atomic Purple is nice and the quintessential late 90s color for anything, but I like Ice Blue a little more. It's what I bought at Target with xmas gift cards to play on my brother's N64 without getting imitation crab meat on my hands, and it reminds me of some other things I enjoyed as a kid.

Not him, but there lots of people who disliked the design. And every single controller that has ever come out has a cadre of people who hold it to be the worst one ever in their minds, be it a Sony, MS, Nintendo, whatever product.

>Everyone hated it in-era.

I bought one as a cheap controller for multiplayer and ended up loving it, made it my main. Honestly if the stick would fit in a regular N64 controller, that would be great. Someone should make a 3d printed back that will allow this.

Bruh, I complained about it back then. Just because I adjusted and dealt with it doesn't mean the transition wasn't still awful. Between Dreamcast and Xbox with that thing, it's as if developers were trying to have a contest of who could make the worse pad. I wish I had the OP pic in-era.

This isn't a problem for any N64 game ever made and only retarded underage b&s think it is. In fact, there are some N64 games like Sin & Punishment which use it for extra control schemes that wouldn't work otherwise.

What? It's the perfect trigger, exactly where it belongs since the middle prong is shaped so ergonomical that the finger is at exactly that position when grabbing it.
It always feels weird when it's not on the back with modern controllers.

This actually can be useful for doing precise things. It's called pause buffering and speedrunners do it.

Although, for some tricks in some games it requires a specific rhythm and not just rapid fire mashing, in which case it's useless.

Aiming with my left hand in something like Goldeneye is fine because I'm not moving at the same time. But if I need to control character movement and aiming at the same time my brain gets all fucked up if I'm aiming with my left hand and moving with my right. It's like trying to write with my left hand.
